When my office moved to Staten Island, I was left trying to figure out food options. Almost everyone else is originally from SI or Brooklyn, so they were far more familiar but I tend to value different things, and having worked in a Deli, I look for different things in the places I eat and frequent. Somehow none of my coworkers knew Poppy Seed (relatively new on the island apparently) and by luck was the first place I tried. I share this because I was forced by coworkers to try other places my first month here before I said, sorry guys its Poppy seed or bust for me. I’ve been here now over 200+ times. Its clean, food is amazing. The bagels are real, made on site, and I hope anyone reading this knows that a real fresh bagel is never toasted to where the bread is dark (a light toast to warm up is fine) and these are bagels I’d put up against any in the city. Bri, there are two Bri’s, and either of them are some of the nicest people and they know, it seems, almost everyone who comes in by name. I’m a crazy person who doesn’t get cheese on his breakfast sandwich, and so far one time out of my 200+ visits I’ve had cheese on it (this happens so, so often at most other establishments) but

First time coming here. I’ve been trying a bunch of different bagel places in Staten Island and this place has the absolute best bagels. A perfect softness on the inside a perfect amount of crunch on the outside. And an awesome put together and clean sandwich. I go heavy on the eggs because of the protein and they were able to keep it together where as most other places struggle to do that. Definitely the best bagel place in Staten Island argue with a wall if you think otherwise. :) Edit: I had this bagel scooped out if it looks on the “thinner” side. They’re not thin. They’re your traditional sized bagel. And perfectly sized as well. Like I said. Best bagel on Staten Island.

They say, "That Poppy Seed Bagels is the best bagel place in Staten Island", and I think this is right but not accurate, it is right because it is the best on the Island, however inaccurate because, in my opinion, it is the best in New Your City and I don't exaggerate if I say in New York State. The moment you enter this place you feel the vibe, you smell the freshness, and feel the cleanliness and you sense the welcoming atmosphere. You can spend an hour or even two without even feel it, it feels like old cozy home! I Don't need to talk about the food because it speaks for itself.... the very first bite makes you fall in love with authentic bagels, and the coffee with all the varieties can take to your resty comfort zone in your mind. The hospitality in this place is something else! You will be treated as if your mom or wife is serving breakfast, not people trying to sell their products and the whole staff feels equipped and ready to serve. I loved their bagels and their new items (check the pictures and order that, whatever their names), and the prices are so affordable in this hard economy. If you want to live the best experience of having a tasty bagel in NYC, then this is your

this place was absolutely perfect. not even exaggerating. as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a polite "hello, welcome in". when we ordered, brianna, our server, was so nice to us. she made jokes and just had a positive attitude. now when we sat down, the owner, joe, was SO nice and funny. he made us feel comfortable, moving tables together for us and brought us some orange juice and a snack while we waited. he sat down next to us and kept a conversation going and just made us feel so welcomed. 10/10 experience, DO recommend

Poppyseed Bagels is a place you simply must stop at if you're in the area, and if you're not, just make a trip! ☺️ I ordered "The Harbor" bagel, with cream cheese, smoked lox, red onions, tomatoes, and capers. It was phenomenal!!! I have never encountered friendlier service, and the guy who made my sandwich was simply fantastic. I will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu.
